Are you discouraged? Don’t let others discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Just because they won’t do something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.
The fact is, you can achieve ANYTHING you want, as long as you’re willing to work hard and put your mind to it. The problem is that some people want rewards but aren’t willing to make the commitment that’s required to earn them. Instead, they find every excuse in the book why they can’t, or should I say won’t, do something. They think, “Somebody like me doesn’t stand a chance,” or “What if I fail?” And, after they convince themselves that failure is inevitable, they get discouraged and quit.
You can’t achieve anything if you don’t make the effort. But it takes a lot more than talking a good game in order to be successful.
You must have faith in yourself and be fully committed to the cause.
Don’t get me wrong. Most things worthwhile in life don’t come easy. If history’s any indication, you’ll run into roadblocks and face setbacks before you reach the finish line. And, if you’re like most people, you’ll probably fail several times. The key is how you react to those disappointments.
Some folks use setbacks as an excuse to throw in the towel by saying, “I’m done.” BUT if you want to be a winner, you’ll push on!
There will also be times when every part of your body begs you to give up. BUT don’t let a moment of weakness convince you to abandon your dreams.
The Winning Formula
It doesn’t matter whether you’re trying to kick a bad habit, run a marathon, or make your dreams come true…the formula’s the same.
While you may be tempted to surrender during a moment of weakness, the long-term consequences of doing so are greater than you think.
Every time you overcome a challenge, you build strength and determination that’ll help you face challenges in the future. BUT the converse is also true.
Just as exercise conditions your body and makes you more resilient, the same holds true for your mindset. When you view quitting as an acceptable option, you’ll find it that much easier to quit next time.
Determination is habit forming; so is quitting.
Unfortunately, one day when success is of paramount importance, you’ll discover that you’ve lost your edge. You’ll come to the realization that you’ve been giving up for so long that quitting isn’t just a bad habit — it’s who you are.
Your Mindset Matters More Than You Think
If you want to be a winner in the game of life, it’s critical to work hard and use your sheer willpower to your advantage. At times it may feel like everything’s being thrown at you — economic downturns, family emergencies, snowstorms. Plus, it’s tough to listen to other peoples’ tales of woe, wondering if you’re next. In any event, focus on your goals, work smart, and give it everything you’ve got (and then a little more). That’s not always easy. Some days it feels like you’re running a long-distance race with no finish line in sight. But a can-do spirit separates the winners from the also-rans.
The truth is, the only person who can stop you, is you. If you run into a wall, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, learn from the experience, and get back on the horse again. Give yourself a pep talk rather than feeling sorry for yourself or looking for excuses to stop trying. Additionally, maintain your focus rather than allowing yourself to get distracted. If you do anything less, you’ll be letting yourself down — and may come to regret it one day. Many people fail simply because they quit right before they cross the finish line. BUT that’s not you! One day it’ll hit you between the eyes that you won. The biggest reward is knowing that you prevailed in spite of all the challenges you faced. Bravo! So, next time you face challenges that seem insurmountable, don’t get discouraged. Impossible means that you just didn’t do it yet.

Thanks, Lorelei. I’m glad you like it.
The truth is, if you stop focusing on all the reasons why you can’t do it, you just may surprise yourself when you see what you can do.
Thanks for taking the time to write.
Best,
