Terrific post Frank. “Leadership” is such a squishy term – this makes it tangible…definitely something I’ll use for my self-assessment and for my team to assess me. We can always improve.

Natalie Kuldell says
Why is the central figure shaped and dressed like an office-working man? Surely these traits apply as well to women who lead…
Frank Sonnenberg says
I absolutely agree Natalie 🙂 In fact these qualities apply to any leader regardless of gender, national origin, race, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability.
Have a great evening.

Really good.information. I think our current leadership cohort should see this.
Frank Sonnenberg says
Thanks Manual
The good thing about the scorecard is that the same leadership qualities apply to a business executive, coach, politician, and head of the PTA.
Have an awesome day!

Frank

Frank.
Thanks for this post!.
What I really like about this scorecard is the number of attributes you are listing, the diversity of the subjects you are capturing clearly define your leadership highest “standard”, which is not easily attainable.
While some people highlight external-marketable leadership attributes, most of the parameters of your list goes to the very foundation of leadership, some of these are hard to measure, but clearly visible to an open, transparent leader, true to his/her quest who knows someone never really conquers leadership, as it is a journey that never ends.

Rodrigo
Frank Sonnenberg says
You’re right Rodrigo. Many of these leadership traits are intangible and difficult to measure. Therein lies the rub. Just because they’re difficult to quantify doesn’t reduce their importance. In the same light, in order for a company to be successful today, it must be innovative, trustworthy, nimble, adaptive, etc. — These too are intangibles.
Thanks for taking the time to write. Have a wonderful day.
Best,
Frank
